Columbus: City Hotels and Accommodation

With more than 60 noteworthy buildings dominating much of the skyline, the architecture throughout the city of Columbus is a pleasant surprise. The city center can be found around 7 miles / 10 km to the southwest of Port Columbus Airport (CMH). Here you will also find a wealth of hotels, with accommodation being plentiful around the following districts.

Downtown District
Known for its glitzy skyscrapers and prominent government buildings, downtown Columbus is an appealing mixture of old and new. With plenty of hotels to choose from, restaurants, shops and sightseeing opportunities are never far away, together with many important offices and corporations.

Arena District
Situated on the northern side of the city, the Arena area of Columbus contains the Nationwide Arena, a major stadium and sporting venue, home to the Columbus Blue Jackets ice hockey team. During major matches and concerts, hotels in this district quickly become fully booked. Other attractions in this area include eateries, shops, nightclubs and renovated historic buildings.

Brewery District
A trendy part of Columbus, hotels in the Brewery area are well-placed for visitors wishing to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the trendy bars. Many large warehouses have been converted into impressive restaurants in this district, often appealing to the younger generation.

Italian Village District
Located to the north of downtown Columbus, the Italian Village is famed for both its cuisine and wealth of historical buildings. Hotels here have the advantage of being close to some of the city's best restaurants and noteworthy structures, a number of which are now listed on the important National Register.

Short North District
Full of life, the Short North district is a lively part of Columbus, characterized by its nightlife. Hotels, bars, clubs, eateries and galleries are all in good supply here.

German Village
The German Village is famed for its classical architecture and red-brick buildings, a number of which have been turned into popular guest houses, B&Bs and small hotels. This is a particularly scenic part of the city and boasts many tree-lined streets and charming houses.
